Genting Highlands theme park delayed again
Latest delay attributed to Covid-19 pandemic and likely social distancing measures set to be in place for the foreseeable future.
Malaysia.- A theme park due to be built at Genting Highlands in Malaysia has announced further delays to its planned opening.
It was scheduled to have its soft opening in the third quarter of this year, but is now likely to delay the opening for another 12 months.
The latest delay is said due to the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing measures likely to be advised for an extended period of time.
The decision to build the theme park was made public in 2014 but has suffered several setbacks, delays and high profile lawsuits.
Genting Malaysia recently announced that job cuts due to the pandemic were expected in the coming weeks.
