Delhi: 3 arrested for online lottery scam
Three men have been arrested after a written complaint received by Crime Branch in Kashmir.
India.- Authorities have arrested three people in New Delhi in relation to an alleged lottery scam following a written complaint received by the Crime Branch in Kashmir.
A complainant received a phone call from an unknown number informing him that he had won a prize of seven Lakh rupees in a contest. He was then asked to deposit some money in a bank account registered under the name Non Stop Deal, in order to claim the prize.
Non Stop Deal was allegedly operated by Santosh Kumar Bhagat, who has been arrested along with Lakhan Lal Ahirvar and Benadict Silvester.
Police arrested 6,291 people in more than 2,400 cases of illegal gambling in 2020.
