Crown Perth kicks off work on major renovations

Its biggest investment in over a decade will include a wine bar and food hall.

Australia.- Crown Resorts has announced that construction is underway on a range of new food, beverage and entertainment venues at Crown Perth, including a wine bar, beer garden and an international food hall. The work is said to involve a multi-million dollar investment, the biggest the venue has seen in over a decade, as part of a nationwide initiative to modernise several Crown properties.

The company said the ‘Urban Food District’ will have a diverse variety of global cuisine and three new bars alongside an outdoor beer garden and speakeasy-style bar. A short stroll from Optus Stadium and adjacent to the Crown Theatre, it will be open late on weekends with DJs. A wine bar is also in development at Crown Towers.

Western Australian owned and operated Hoskins has been appointed to work on the Urban Food District, with construction to create 150 local jobs. Additional hospitality roles will be created when the venues open. 

The announcement follows recent major investments in Crown properties nationally, including the launch of Marmont restaurant and expansion to The Palms Theatre in Melbourne. At Crown Sydney, Golden Century opened earlier this year.

Crown Perth CEO Brian Pereira said: “Locals and visitors will soon have more options than ever at Crown Perth to grab a delicious and quick bite to eat, meet up with friends for dinner, or have a beer before or after the footy. Crown has been attracting new experiences, renowned restaurants and entertainment to the heart of Perth for 40 years – and we’re delighted to be expanding and reimagining this vibrant dining precinct.”

Earlier this month, the Western Australian government announced that Crown Perth has been found suitable to keep its casino licence. The decision followed a period of operational reform and oversight. during Crown Perth ovehauled its corporate and governance structure, enhanced employee screening and training models to promote ethical behaviour and took actions to minimise gambling harm.
