Century Entertainment has shared its financial results for the six months ended 30 September 2021, posting a loss of HK$20.8m (US$2.7m).

Cambodia.- A week after issuing a profit warningCentury Entertainment International Holdings has confirmed that its loss reached HK$20.8m (US$2.7m) in the six months to the end of September. However, the company stated that it had sufficient working capital to maintain commercial viability due to the financial support of its chairman, Ng Man Sun.

Ng Man Sun, who is also chief executive officer and the company’s major shareholder, has provided $79.59 interest-free credit to the group, and personally provided guarantees for third-party debts of $62m.

The company attributed the increased loss to the Covid-19 pandemic and delayed re-opening of New Casino at Dara Sakor. The loss for the same period last year was US$6.2m. During the period, the group’s augmented reality/virtual reality department had revenue of $200,000 and the game department had no revenue.

The Dara Sakor casino was originally due to open in January but the delivery of essential equipment was delayed. The venue finally opened on November 4 and is expected to be fully open by February. It will first operate two gaming tables.
