Cambodia’s gambling revenue falls 25.8% in first half of 2026
Cambodia collected approximately US$28m in revenue from casino gaming and gambling duties in the first half of 2026.
Cambodia.- State revenue from casino gaming and gambling duties in Cambodia fell 25.8 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2026 to approximately US$28m. That’s according to figures from the Ministry of Economy and Finance cited by The Khmer Times. According to the report, the largest contributor was NagaWorld Casino, which paid additional mandatory gaming revenue after a 2024 audit.
Despite the decline during the first six months, the government estimates that revenue from the commercial gaming sector could reach 117.7 per cent of its full-year target. It cited continued improvements in management and collection.
The latest figures come amid challenges for Cambodia’s tourism industry. International tourist arrivals fell 47.8 per cent in the first five months of 2026. The government has been seeking measures to revive tourism, including broader visa-free access, as the casino sector remains closely linked to international visitors.
