Cambodia revokes Casino Kchom licence after online scam findings
Authorities began investigating the site in mid-2025 after receiving reports that fraudsters were using the casino as a base for fake investment schemes.
Cambodia.- The Commercial Gambling Management Commission (CGMC) has revoked the licence of Casino Kchom in Cambodia’s Kampot province after an investigation linked the property to online scam operations and other alleged criminal activities.
The licence had already been suspended for more than four months. According to the CGMC, authorities began investigating the site in mid-2025 after receiving reports that fraudsters were using the casino as a base for fake investment schemes. The inquiry found evidence of deceptive recruitment practices, forced illegal labour and other activities connected to online scam operations.
Prosecutors have since charged the property’s owner and alleged accomplices with illegal recruitment for exploitation, organised fraud and money laundering. Court proceedings are ongoing and investigators seek to identify other people involved.
The regulator warned casino owners and operators to comply with Cambodia’s gambling regulations and avoid involvement in online scams. It said it would continue working with enforcement agencies to conduct inspections and pursue legal action against violators in line with the government directives.
