The network is alleged to have handled at least 1bn baht (US$30.52m) in online betting transactions.

Thailand.- Bangkok police have arrested 19 suspects over alleged involvement in an online gambling network linked to the Ole777.com platform. The announcement was made during the launch of a new Football Betting Suppression and Protection Centre established to address illegal betting during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Metropolitan Police Bureau commander Pol Maj Gen Chotiwat Luangwilai said an investigation is targeting a wider group of 30 suspects connected to a network believed to have handled at least 1bn baht (US$30.52m) in online betting transactions. The group allegedly used mule bank accounts to move and conceal funds, making it harder to trace the flow of money.

One of those arrested, a 19-year-old woman, allegedly acted as a mule account holder. She told investigators she was paid 2,000 baht (US$61) per account and began supplying account details in mid-2025.

Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Trairong Piwpan said investigators are working to identify the organisers behind the scheme and track the movement of proceeds, including possible conversion into cryptocurrency and cross-border transfers. He said suspects could face charges relating to involvement in a transnational criminal organisation.

Officials cautioned the public against engaging in football betting during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, warning that bettors as well as operators could face criminal charges. Under Thailand’s gambling law, people found guilty of participating in illegal football betting could face up to two years in prison, a fine of up to 2,000 baht (US$61), or both.
