Australia: 10 unlicensed online casinos still in operation

Although the ACMA has been aware of the sites for two months, the 10 unlicensed online casinos have not been shut down.

Australia.- The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) asked Australian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to block 10 gaming sites last week.

However, the 10 unlicensed online casinos, including Golden Reels, All Spins Win, Bonza Spins, Pokie Spins, Golden Pokies, House of Pokies, among others, are still live in Australia

Since November 2019, ACMA has blocked a total of 238 illegal gambling websites. Unlicensed online gambling in Australia can be punished with fines of up to AU$1.1m a day under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

Revenues from online gambling operators in the Asia-Pacific are estimated at between AU$65bn (US$50bn) to more than AU$90bn (US$70bn), driven by a rise in popularity due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns.
