54 arrested for alleged illegal gambling in Thailand
Police made arrests in Bang Yai.
Thailand.- Police in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province have made 54 arrests and seized over THB 218,000 (US$ 6,680) in cash after receiving a tipoff about alleged illegal gambling in Bang Yai district. Targeting a warehouse, it was the second operation in Bang Yai in under two weeks.
Police Major General Kittithane praised collaborative efforts between local authorities, police and the Bang Yai Volunteer Defence Corps. Led by Nonthaburi Governor Kiattisak Trongsiri said: “These illegal operations contribute to rising personal debt and community instability. We will continue to pursue those responsible through every legal means available.”
