Arizona regulator issues cease-and-desist letters to unlicensed gambling operators
ADG says the entities offered access to illegal online gambling platforms.
US.- The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has issued cease-and-desist orders against unlicensed gambling operators in the US and abroad. The regulator said the entities had been illegally targeting residents.
Letters have been sent to ReBet (event wagering), Novig (peer-to-peer exchange), Dallas Safari Club and Fanthem (raffles), Stake.US (sweepstakes), BettorEdge and High 5 (multiple verticals).
The regulator stated: “The active operations of these companies and online websites in Arizona are alleged to be felony criminal enterprises, and each operator has been directed to desist from any future illegal gambling operations or activities of any type in the state.” Operators are claimed to be in violation of Arizona gaming laws, including promotion of gambling, illegal control of an enterprise, and money laundering.
Jackie Johnson, director of the ADG, said: “Illegal gambling, regardless of the platform or format, has no place in Arizona. Whether it’s online casino-style games, sweepstakes models, or unauthorized sports betting, any operation that falls outside Arizona’s legal and regulatory framework will face enforcement action. Illegal gambling doesn’t just break the law; it robs our state’s economy and puts consumers at risk. The Department stands firmly with our licensed and regulated operators who are following the rules, contributing to Arizona’s economic health, and upholding the protections that a regulated market provides.”
