Alberta iGaming Corporation names Dan Keene as CEO
The Canadian province’s regulated online sports betting and igaming will launch on July 13.
Canada.- Dan Keene has been named permanent CEO of the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) after occupying the position on an interim basis. He had previously served as vice-president of gaming at the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) since 2022.
AiGC will launch Alberta’s regulated igaming market on July 13. The organisation stated that Keene played a pivotal role in shaping the province’s gaming landscape. He previously worked as the AGLC’s manager of Casino Products. Before joining AGLC, he worked at Molson Breweries and Century Casinos.
Sanjeev Kad, board chair of Alberta iGaming Corporation, said: “Dan brings deep operational experience and a strong track record in gaming and market development. His leadership will be essential as the Alberta iGaming Corporation prepares for launch and delivers a regulated market built on social responsibility and player protection.”
Alberta will be the second in Canada to have a commercial online gambling market after Ontario, which launched igaming in April 2022.
