US.- The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas has announced plans to develop the Naskila Casino Resort on reservation land in Leggett, Polk County, Texas. The tribe has received notification from the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Solicitor’s Office for the Bureau of Indian Affairs confirming that the land, which has been in trust since 2001, is eligible to be used for gaming.

According to Indian Gaming, Cecilia Flores, Tribal Council chairwoman, said: “We are grateful for the support of our membership and for the confirmation from federal agencies that allow us to proceed with the project on our reservation land in Leggett. This resort will create significant economic opportunities and provide a premier entertainment destination in East Texas.”
