The 2019 edition of Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) took place on August 13-15 and the event greeted 1500 visitors.

Australia.- This year the Australasian Gaming Expo celebrated the 30th Anniversary of showcasing Gaming and Hospitality products to representatives from Clubs, Hotels and Casinos. Delegates came from Australia, NZ, Asia, the US and Europe.

AGE’s humble beginnings in 1990 saw 100 exhibitors greeting 1500 visitors in one hall of the old Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. In contrast, the 2019 Expo saw 237 exhibitors occupying 3 halls of Sydney’s International Convention Centre with just over 9000 visits over the 3 days. While visitor growth is a modest 3% increase on the 2018 Expo, it represents a booming 31% growth in visitors since the 25th Expo in 2016.

The increase in delegates was reflected on the Expo floor with one exhibitor commenting on the Tuesday morning “we’ve only been here for an hour and already we’re run off our feet!”

As always, AGE presented a broad spectrum of hospitality suppliers including; security, beverage, food, cash handling, furniture, paging and communications, signage and displays, building services, AV, entertainment, financial services and of course gaming.

AGE continued to be a fun, educational and informative event offering experiences for both Visitors and Exhibitors alike.

Tuesday evening, both Visitors and Exhibitors were invited to a celebration, with awards presented to the 15 exhibitors who have exhibited at the 30 consecutive Expos.

Thursday morning there was an Exhibitor breakfast where three exhibitors were announced as shortlisted for the Best Stand award. This year the judges shortlisted newcomer, The Christmas Tree Company (Stand 383), Brintons Carpets (Stand 250) and Jem Managed IT Services (Stand 310), with the judges awarding the prize to Jem, for their creative execution of brand identity and high level of visitor engagement and interaction.

There was also a People’s Choice award for the best stand, based on visitor votes recorded in the AGE App, this year’s winner being IGT (Stand 590).

For three lucky visitors, just attending AGE means they’ll be taking their partners to G2E Las Vegas in October. The winners are Sarah Brock from the Seymour Club in Port Melbourne, Jo Hunter from Campsie RSL and Robyn Withers from Wauchope RSL.

The three day 20 seminar program was well attended with over 2,000 delegates, all eager to be informed, inspired and glimpse the future of Australian gaming and hospitality.

AGE sponsored a special “Women in Gaming and Hospitality” luncheon, emceed by TracySpicer with over 300 attendees.

Billed as the largest Hospitality Expo in the Southern Hemisphere the Australasian Gaming Expo fills over 19,000 square metres of space and continues to be Australia’s premier Hospitality and Gaming event.
