Ugandan gambling regulator staff undergo technical training on national monitoring system in Slovenia
Officials say the programme will strengthen internal technical capacity as the regulator expands digital oversight of gambling operations.
Uganda.- The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has sent a joint IT delegation to Ljubljana, Slovenia, to undertake technical training on the National Central Electronic Monitoring System (NCEMS), a platform used to supervise gaming activities across Uganda.
The delegation includes information technology specialists from the regulator and the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U). The programme covers the operational and technical management of the electronic monitoring infrastructure used in the country’s regulated gaming sector.
According to the regulator, the training provides practical instruction on how the monitoring system functions, its architecture, system integrations and daily operational processes. The sessions involve the team working alongside a consultant who delivers technical demonstrations and guidance on how to deploy and manage the platform.
The NCEMS is a key component of Uganda’s gambling regulatory framework, enabling the NLGRB to track gaming transactions and machine activity through a centralised system. The platform enhances oversight of betting operations that previously depended on operator reporting.
The Slovenia training programme supports ongoing measures to strengthen regulatory systems and improve the monitoring of licensed gambling operators nationwide. Officials say the programme will strengthen internal technical capacity as the regulator expands digital oversight of gambling operations.
