Togo’s LONATO champions youth and women entrepreneurship with lottery funds
The 2025 edition of the Tranche Commune Entente (TCE 2025) linked lottery participation to social impact, funding projects for youth and women while offering top prizes.
Togolese Republic.- The Togolese National Lottery (LONATO) has channelled lottery proceeds to empower youth and women entrepreneurs while advancing social development. It recently launched the 2025 edition of the Tranche Commune Entente (TCE 2025), a lottery that turned play into real community impact.
TCE 2025 is an annual lottery organised by LONATO and the Council of the Entente that combined cash prizes, including a top jackpot of FCFA20 m (€30,500) with social benefits. The campaign ran from October 9 to 30. Proceeds funded youth and women entrepreneurship projects as well as community initiatives, such as a “medico-social facility” at the University de Kara.
According to LONATO’s Marketing and Innovation Director, Kokouvi Amédomé, the competition aimed to “stimulate, reward and showcase the dynamism and creativity of young people and women in the realm of entrepreneurship and income-generating activities (AGR)”.
In partnership with the Council of the Entente, LONATO opened a call for projects under two categories: “Youth and Entrepreneurship” and “Women and Income-Generating Activities (AGR)”. Eligibility required Togolese nationals aged 18 to 40 for the youth category and women aged 20 to 50 for the women’s category, whether individually or in groups.
A total of ten youth-led projects received funding of FCFA2m (€3,050) each, while 20 women-led projects received FCFA1m (€1,525) each.
By linking lottery participation to social impact, LONATO positioned itself as more than a gaming operator; it was a partner in national development. This approach strengthened public trust and emphasised responsible gaming, allowing players to see their participation translate directly into social and economic benefits.
Through TCE 2025, LONATO set an example for other West African lotteries, showing how gambling can be a force for positive community change while offering entertainment.
