TCE lottery advances plans for 31st edition with five African countries
Niger will host the 2026 regional draw after lottery directors adopted recommendations for the next edition and considered ways to strengthen public participation.
Niger.- The TCE lottery is advancing plans for its 31st edition, with directors-general of national lotteries adopting recommendations for the 2026 regional draw, which will be hosted by Niger.
The recommendations were adopted during the recent 56th annual meeting of the directors-general of the national lotteries of the Council of the Entente, hosted by the Niger National Lottery (LONANI).
The Tranche Commune Entente (TCE) is a regional lottery involving the national lotteries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger and Togo. The initiative combines a common lottery draw with a development role, including contributions towards social, cultural and sporting projects.
Togo hosted the 2025 TCE, with the edition offering a total prize pool of CFA80m (US$120,000), including a CFA20m (US$30,000) jackpot.
According to a report in Niger’s Le Sahel, the directors-general reviewed the results of the 2025 TCE, examined and adopted recommendations for organising the 2026 edition, exchanged experiences on their respective activities and considered ways to strengthen public participation in the regional lottery.
LONANI director-general Boubacar Saley highlighted Niger’s role in the preparations, saying: “After Togo in 2025, Niger has the honour of hosting these proceedings, which will lay the foundations for the successful organisation of the 31st edition.”
The meeting was intended to establish the conditions for organising the upcoming regional draw, with the date expected to be announced in due course.
The meeting also addressed wider challenges facing the national lotteries. Niger’s Ministry of Economy and Finance called on the lotteries to strengthen cooperation, innovate their service offerings and reinforce their role in the economy, while placing the fight against financial crime at the centre of their strategic policies.
The ministry also highlighted the role of lotteries in mobilising domestic resources and supporting development. The TCE framework includes contributions towards projects with social, cultural and sporting objectives.
