SportyTV now available on South Africa’s Openview channel 125
Users can watch replays of Real Madrid and Manchester City games for free.
South Africa.- Free-to-air sports channel SportyTV has announced its launch on Channel 125 on Openview, South Africa’s first free-to-view satellite TV platform.
The move will see Openview sports viewers get access to over 500 live sports events per season, free of charge and without any subscription fees.
The channel covers football from several top leagues, including La Liga, Serie A, Copa del Ray, Saudi Pro League, Copa Libertadores and Liga Argentina. It also features events from EuroLeague basketball and mixed martial arts (MMA).
Thanks to SportyTV’s existing partnerships with RealMadridtv and Citytv, users can also watch replays of all Real Madrid and Manchester City matches.
To complement its live sports offerings, SportyTV offers engaging programs like SportyShow, which airs Monday through Thursday, and SportyLive, where experts provide in-depth pre-game and post-game analysis.
Having successfully tested its signal with the Carabao Cup Final, SportyTV is now fully operational and set to lead the free-to-air sports market in South Africa.
Since SportyTV is part of Openview’s free bouquet, viewers can access all the channel’s programs with only a TV and decoder.
Antonio Lee, COO of eMedia Investments, the parent of Openview, said: “We are thrilled to welcome SportyTV to the Openview platform, further expanding our commitment to delivering diverse and high-quality entertainment to our viewers. SportyTV brings an exciting lineup of sports content, catering to the passion and energy of South African sports fans. This addition strengthens Openview’s position as the go-to destination for free, premium television, ensuring that our audience has even more to enjoy at no cost.”
Meanwhile, SportyTV has signed a historic deal with CD Leganes that will see the channel become the primary lateral shirt sponsor of the La Liga team until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
