SportPesa and DHL Stormers team up for new season

As part of the deal, SportPesa will launch fan-centric campaigns that will provide opportunities for supporters to score game tickets, meet players and collect signed merchandise.

South Africa.- SportPesa has inked a sponsorship deal with the DHL Stormers to become the official sports betting partner of the rugby union franchise in the 2025/26 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, SportPesa’s branding will feature on Stormers’ new 2025/26 match and training kits, as well as at the team’s homeground, DHL Stadium in Cape Town. The partnership also includes fan activations, exclusive promotions and community-driven projects that support rugby development in the Western Cape

As part of the deal, SportPesa will launch fan-centric campaigns that will provide opportunities for supporters to score game tickets, meet players and collect signed merchandise. These include “team trading” competitions and crypto-based reward programs, designed to deepen their connection to the team.

By teaming up with the Stormers, SportPesa aims to strengthen its market presence and gain higher exposure and credibility in the South African rugby community.

Gareth Rosslee, Head of Marketing at SportPesa South Africa, said: “The Stormers’ values of passion, teamwork and excellence mirror our own. Together, we will enhance fan engagement and contribute to the growth of the sport.”

The deal gives the DHL Stormers the financial boost needed to remain a strong contender in the URC and Champions Cup, particularly after a disappointing quarterfinal exit in the 2024/25 season.

Leontine De Sutter, Chief Commercial Officer of Stormers Rugby, said: “We are thrilled to have SportPesa as our official sports betting partner. Their passion for the game and focus on innovative fan experiences will add a valuable new dimension to our journey.”
