QTech Games wins best Innovator at 2026 BiG Africa Summit

The Shining Savannah Award recognises QTech Games’ groundbreaking innovations, including QTech Hybrid, which bridges retail and digital gaming across Africa.

Botswana.- QTech Games, the leading force in emerging-market gaming, has seized the Best Innovator title at the 2026 BiG Africa Summit in Botswana, claiming the prestigious Shining Savannah Award for its groundbreaking impact across Africa’s iGaming landscape.

The Award is perennially given to the best all-round igaming innovator in Africa, recognising “groundbreaking innovation and technological innovation”, tailored solutions for the continent’s igaming market and excellence in user engagement and sustained growth over the past year. QTech Games prevailed over well-known competitors including Skilrock and GlobaLab.

QTech Games CEO Philip Doftvik said the company was delighted to have won another award for overall innovation in Africa over the past 12 months and noted that being shortlisted was already a feather in the team’s cap, while the victory validated their growth and innovations like QTech Hybrid and QTechLabs.

He said: “This win is testimony to our diligent team at QTech, and to the ever-evolving group of innovative suppliers that our offering represents. It’s a real team effort. We’ve made our name as the go-to aggregator for emerging markets and we remain committed to rolling out top-class content and retail innovation that drives new revenues for our worldwide partners across Africa and beyond.”

Driving innovation across Africa

QTech’s win follows the launch of QTech Hybrid, a platform enabling a seamless transition between retail and digital gaming. The rollout across Soccabet’s network in Ghana has allowed operators to scale brick-and-mortar operations online. The software combines QTech Games’ AI-powered casino lobby, QTech Play, with a retail management system and a state-of-the-art Agent Management System (AMS), streamlining deposits, withdrawals and gameplay for players both in-store and on personal devices.

Doftvik also highlighted the broader strategy behind QTech’s expansion: “Being recognised for our innovation, impact and bottom-line results – to name just a few of the key judging criteria – will only embolden our expansive African mission. It’s also indicative of QTech’s broader strategic direction across emerging markets, where we are setting the gold standard and defining the future of the online casino industry, with an established reach throughout and outside of Africa.”

The BiG Africa Summit celebrates excellence and innovation across the continent’s iGaming and sports betting sector. This year, it recognised operators, technology innovators, regulatory leaders and distributors who provide engaging and diverse content for Africa’s fast-growing gaming community.

The BiG Africa judging panel said: “This year, the calibre of nominations was exceptional, making the selection process extremely competitive. Being recognised not only as a finalist but also the market leader in Africa for its relentless innovation in our prestigious Shining Savannah category highlights the outstanding impact and achievements QTech Games has made within the industry.”
