PariPesa rolls out in-app security tool as betting adoption grows in Africa
Authenticator feature targets fraud risks and user protection in mobile-first markets as betting accelerates in Africa.
Kenya.- PariPesa has introduced an in-app authentication tool aimed at strengthening account security as betting adoption increases across Africa. The rollout comes as data protection, transaction safety and responsible gaming continue to gain importance in mobile-first betting environments.
The PariPesa Authenticator generates secure verification codes directly within the operator’s mobile app, reducing reliance on SMS-based verification and third-party tools. The feature is designed to add an extra layer of protection to sensitive account actions, including withdrawals and password changes.
PariPesa is active in several markets, including Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa. The company underlined the importance of embedding security into the user experience, saying: “Security isn’t optional. Especially in fast-growing digital markets.”
Unlike traditional two-factor authentication methods that depend on SMS verification or external applications, the in-app solution is designed to streamline access while maintaining security.
The move highlights how operators are increasingly looking to balance seamless user experiences with stronger safeguards, as competition intensifies across Africa’s betting sector.
PariPesa said the authenticator forms part of its approach to building secure and scalable betting solutions, with a focus on strengthening user trust.
