NLC trains Limpopo groups on lottery funding

South Africa.- The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has hosted an education and awareness workshop in Limpopo Province to help civil society organisations better understand the regulator’s mandate and lottery funding application process.
The workshop, held at Sefapane Lodge in the Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality, on July 23, brought together representatives of civil society organisations seeking guidance on the commission’s regulatory responsibilities and grant funding requirements.
Participants received information on the NLC’s role in overseeing lottery funding and managing grants awarded to eligible organisations. Officials also outlined the commission’s approach to supporting projects that benefit communities.
A key focus of the workshop was the funding application process. Attendees received practical guidance on preparing and submitting applications that meet the commission’s requirements. The session also addressed common application errors and explained the criteria used during assessments.
