MulaSport sponsors Eswatini cycling tournament with E60,000

The tri-nation road race, organised by the Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA), attracted more than 100 cyclists from Eswatini, South Africa and Mozambique.

Eswatini.- Eswatini betting operator MulaSport has donated E60,000 (€3,000) to the 2025 edition of the MulaSport Kusekhaya Lowveld Challenge, held on Saturday, 22 November, at Mhlume Country Club in Eswatini’s Lubombo District.

The tri-nation road race, organised by the Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA), attracted more than 100 cyclists from Eswatini, South Africa and Mozambique. As title sponsor, MulaSport also offered live betting on the event through its platform.

The event featured various categories, including a free 5km family ride, and 30km, 50km, 90km and 120km elite distances. Kwanele Jele (Eswatini), the defending champion, retained his title in the 120km event. Although Jele, Makhosi Baile and Nkosingiphile Mavuso (Team G) all recorded the same time of 3:19:52, the camera confirmed Jele crossed the line first, followed by Baile in second.

Mandiswa Fakudze claimed victory in the 90km women’s race, dominating the competition with a finish time of 2:42:57, nearly 18 minutes ahead of Nontsikelelo Mdlovu, who finished in 3:00:52. Female cyclists made up roughly 15 per cent of the total participants in the field, a slight increase from previous years.

MulaSport’s E60,000 sponsorship supported cash prizes ranging from E10,000–E15,000 (€500–€750) for the 120km winner, E5,000–E8,000 (€250–€400) for second and third place, and E2,000–E4,000 (€100–€200) for other categories, in addition to betting credits and kit.

Through its continued investment in Eswatini’s sports sector, spanning cycling, football leagues and trade-fair tournaments, MulaSport aims to increase its popularity amongst local sports fans while supporting the growth of local talent.
