Morocco wins African Rocket League e-sports title, qualifies for FIFAe World Cup

Moroccan team beats South Africa to secure third continental title and advance to FIFAe World Cup 2025 in three disciplines.

Morocco.- Morocco has strengthened its presence in African esports after winning the African Rocket League Championship. The final on October 28 saw Morocco’s national Rocket League team defeat South Africa by four rounds to three, with a total score of 20 goals to three.

Morocco Gaming Industry (MGI) said: “The Moroccan national team has claimed the African championship in Rocket League for the third time in its history.”

The national roster, consisting of Sami Hajji, Nassim Bali, Marouane Biba, Yasmin Bali and Rayane Benani, under coach Saad Bassy, secured the country’s continental Rocket League title. This victory qualifies Morocco for all three competitions at the FIFAe World Cup 2025 – Rocket League, eFootball Mobile and eFootball Console – scheduled for December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Morocco defeats South Africa 20-3 in the African Rocket League final, sealing continental dominance and a spot at the FIFAe World Cup 2025.

MGI added that the win confirms Morocco’s leadership in African esports, following previous continental titles in eFootball Mobile in 2022 and eFootball Console in 2023. The federation also announced training camps and intensified coaching programs as the team prepares for the global event.

The Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication was acknowledged by MGI for its continued support of esports development and the players representing the country on the international stage.

Morocco is one of only a few nations to secure full representation across all three disciplines, amid a pool of 94 national teams that entered qualifiers. This highlights the country’s position among Africa’s leading esports nations.

The result reflects Morocco’s continued participation and preparation for international tournaments and ongoing investment in competitive gaming.
