The event will bring together African and European operators to explore collaboration, innovation and sector growth.

Morocco.- Morocco is set to connect Africa and Europe as it hosts the 2026 European Lotteries (EL) Industry Days, bringing together operators from across both continents. The event aims to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation across the sector.

Scheduled for June 7 to 10, 2026 in the city of Marrakech, the event carries the theme “Lotteries Bridging Continents”, highlighting the importance of cooperation and sharing best practices between African and European organisations.

The event is organised by EL in partnership with the National Lottery of Morocco and supported by industry partners including the African Lotteries Association (ALA), Brightstar Lottery, Scientific Games and Aristocrat Interactive. It provides a platform for discussions on innovation, collaboration and the sector’s impact.

Romana Girandon, EL President, highlighted the importance of cross-continental collaboration and innovation. “Connecting Europe and Africa is a unique opportunity to address our shared priorities: advancing our positive societal impact, leveraging new technologies, confronting irresponsible and illegal practices and reaffirming national lotteries as a recognisable and trusted driver of public good,” he said according to the EL website.

Collaboration driving innovation

Delegates are expected to explore how working together strengthens the sector, drives progress and supports shared goals across continents.

Girandon added: “Under the theme ‘Lotteries Bridging Continents’, this event is a chance to explore how our collective impact is even stronger when we share ideas, best practices and innovation across borders.”

Key topics will include advancing societal impact, leveraging new technologies and addressing shared challenges across Europe and Africa. The event is expected to attract senior executives, regulators, technology partners and industry stakeholders eager to exchange ideas on collaboration and sector development.

Hosting the event in Morocco also reinforces the kingdom’s role as a hub for regional dialogue and growth. Marrakech’s mix of culture, modern infrastructure and hospitality provides a vibrant setting for discussions shaping the future of the industry.

Registration is open to EL members, with sessions, networking and showcases designed to connect Europe and Africa through collaboration. This makes the 2026 EL Industry Days in Morocco a landmark event in cross-continental cooperation that celebrates teamwork and advances the broader public good.
