Zonse’s USSD expands lottery access nationwide bridging urban and rural gaps in Malawi
USSD service by Malawi Zonse is transforming lottery access, connecting players across cities and villages.
Malawi.- Zonse Lotto is transforming the national lottery with its Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) short‑code, giving millions of Malawians the chance to participate in regulated, nationally approved draws without internet or smartphone access.
Zonse Lotto, a Malawi Gaming and Lotteries Authority (MAGLA)-licensed operator, recently introduced the new USSD code *4363#, making it easier for players in both urban and rural areas who previously had limited access to lottery games to take part.
Zonse said, according to 247 Malawi: “Zonse Lotto has received positive feedback since launching its new USSD short code, designed to make lottery play more accessible nationwide.”
The short-code aims to make participation inclusive for all Malawians, regardless of connectivity, and marks a major milestone in Zonse Lotto’s mission to “democratise gaming“.
The company added: “The short‑code rollout is part of our mission to cultivate a culture of hope and possibility, empowering lives and uplifting communities through gaming.”
Zonse Lotto rewards players nationwide
Zonse Lotto officially launched on March 19 2025, providing access to regulated lottery draws. Months later, the USSD went live, dramatically expanding participation. The operator has produced more than 90,000 winners and distributed more than K100 m (€94,000) in prizes, reflecting the platform’s growing reach.
