MAGLA’s visit to Lagos focuses on regulatory experience, emerging trends, responsible gambling and consumer protection.

Nigeria.- Malawi’s Gaming & Lotteries Authority (MAGLA) visited Nigeria’s Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LSLGA) for a bilateral regulatory engagement focused on strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange in the gaming and lottery sector.

The visit provided an opportunity for the two authorities to share experiences, examine emerging trends, discuss regulatory approaches and explore practical strategies for addressing common challenges across their rapidly evolving gaming markets.

In a statement, LSLGA said: “As the gaming industry continues to transcend borders, strong collaboration among African regulators is essential to promoting responsible gambling, effective regulation, consumer protection, technological innovation and sustainable industry development.”

The regulator identified responsible gambling, effective regulation, consumer protection, technological innovation and sustainable industry development as key areas for stronger cooperation among African regulators.

The visit also enabled MAGLA and LSLGA to exchange knowledge on regulatory approaches and discuss common challenges facing their respective gaming markets.

LSLGA said it remains committed to building meaningful regulatory partnerships across Africa and contributing to a stronger, more coordinated regulatory ecosystem.

The Nigeria engagement follows a similar regulatory outreach by MAGLA in Angola on August 13. MAGLA met Angola’s Gaming Supervision Institute (ISJ) to discuss institutional cooperation and the exchange of regulatory knowledge and best practices, including possible technical assistance.
