Lottotech records major jackpot streak as Mauritius lottery sales surge
Multiple high-value wins across Mauritius strengthen lottery participation, boost public revenue and see Goodlands emerge as one of the most visible winning locations.
Mauritius.- Mauritius has seen strong lottery momentum in 2026, with multiple multimillion-rupee jackpot wins reinforcing Lottotech’s retail strength and contribution to public revenue. The island’s national lottery operator has recorded a steady run of high-value payouts across its retail network this year, with major wins recorded across several licensed retail outlets, including Goodlands, Bagatelle and Tribeca, highlighting the continued importance of land-based lottery sales.
One of the most visible winning locations in early 2026 was Goodlands in Northern Mauritius, where two major Loto jackpots were sold within weeks of each other, according to Lottotech’s official operator results page. A Rs36m (€720,000) winning ticket from the Saturday April 4 draw was purchased through Winner’s in Goodlands, while a Rs16.8m (€336,000) jackpot from the Wednesday March 11 draw was sold through Super U – Goodlands.
Located in Rivière du Rempart District, Goodlands is one of Mauritius’ busiest retail and market towns, known for its strong daily foot traffic and concentration of commercial activity, making it a significant location for lottery sales.
Elsewhere in April, the Wednesday April 1 Loto Plus draw produced a Rs9.78m (€195,600) jackpot winner through Dinnoo Store, while one of the biggest wins of the year came on February 28 when a ticket sold through Tabagie Beeharee landed a Rs53.64m (€1.07m) jackpot.
January also delivered two major wins during the 1200th Loto and Loto Plus draws, including a Rs18.27m (€365,400) jackpot sold through the official Lottotech Kiosk in Bagatelle and a Rs12.91m (€258,200) jackpot sold through the Lottotech Kiosk in Tribeca.
Growth and returns
The sequence of high-value wins comes after Lottotech introduced its first major pricing and jackpot-floor adjustment since 2009 on December 18 2025. The operator raised the minimum Loto jackpot from Rs5m (€100,000) to around Rs8m (€160,000) and increased ticket prices to Rs30 (€0.60), saying the move would improve sustainability and boost contributions to the Consolidated Fund and National Solidarity Fund.
Lottotech has also continued to position lottery participation as a contributor to public finance, with official figures showing turnover of Rs2.87bn (€57.4m) for 2024 and Rs681m (€13.6m) directed to the Consolidated Fund.
The spread of winners across multiple retail outlets shows how major jackpots remain central to driving participation across Mauritius’ licensed lottery network, with Goodlands remaining one of the most visible locations in this year’s winner listings.
The development follows another milestone for the operator earlier this year, when Lottotech became the first lottery in Africa to achieve World Lottery Association Responsible Gaming Level 4 recertification three times, strengthening its responsible gaming credentials alongside its commercial growth.
