LONATO advances Togolese Republic’s Lottery with five-year modernisation plan

New terminals, faster draws and innovative games enhance accessibility, revenue and digital inclusion nationwide.

Togolese Republic.- The Loterie Nationale du Togo (LONATO) is strengthening the lottery system of the Togolese Republic through a five-year modernisation plan aligned with Togo Digital 2025–2030, the government’s national strategy to position the country as a West African technology hub.

This initiative aims to improve accessibility, efficiency and the overall player experience. As part of the plan, LONATO is upgrading approximately 900 terminals to TS10 units, featuring integrated 24-hour batteries and multiple connectivity options, including 2G, 3G, 4G and GPRS networks with dual SIM capability. Over the next five years, up to 5,000 terminals will be deployed nationwide, expanding access to lottery games.

A key improvement is the accelerated announcement of daily draw results. With the new infrastructure, results are now published within five minutes of ticket sales closing, reducing wait times and increasing transparency. LONATO said, according to Togo First: “The new terminals will not only speed up results but also make playing the lottery easier and more accessible to every corner of Togo.”

LONATO continues to innovate its offerings, including Loto Matinal, a daily draw introduced in 2024, and Loto Turbo, featuring two draws per day, providing more chances to win while keeping ticket prices accessible.

Boosting revenue and driving digital inclusion

The modernisation also complements the government’s broader agenda for economic growth and digital inclusion. Minister of Digital Economy, Kodjo Adedze, said, according to TechAfrica: “Through these initiatives, we aim to strengthen national revenue while providing a modern, transparent lottery experience.”

With these upgrades, LONATO is not only modernising infrastructure but also reinforcing its role in national development. The digital transformation is expected to strengthen player engagement, boost revenues and pave the way for a more transparent lottery system.
