Guinea.- Guinea’s National Lottery operator, LONAGUI, has announced that scholarship recipient Morlaye Yansané passed the judicial examination and became a magistrate. The operator said the scholarship was intended to remove the financial barrier to postgraduate study and allow him to focus on his education.
Yansané received the scholarship in 2023 to pursue a Master’s degree in private law at Kofi Annan University. Announcing his achievement in a statement, LONAGUI said the scholarship had enabled Yansané to pursue an opportunity that might otherwise have been financially out of reach.
LONAGUI said: “Knowing that our scholarship simply allowed him to have his chance in this elite competition gives full meaning to our commitment.”
The organisation also recognised Yansané’s personal commitment, highlighting the months of intensive revision, discipline and determination behind his success. It congratulated him on becoming a magistrate and wished him well in his service to Guinea’s justice system.
By March 2026, LONAGUI’s scholarship programme will have supported 42 Guinean students pursuing Master’s degrees since 2023. The programme was also reported to cover tuition fees and provide maintenance allowances to help students meet living expenses during their studies.
