The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire has gathered regional lottery leaders and government officials in Abidjan to mark its 55th anniversary with discussions on digital modernisation.

Côte d’Ivoire- The National Lottery of Côte d’Ivoire (LONACI) has hosted its 55th anniversary celebration in Abidjan, drawing industry stakeholders from across Africa to discuss digital transformation and operational development.

The event, held at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire, brought together government officials, lottery executives and industry partners. LONACI said: “This ceremony marks the launch of a series of activities planned to celebrate more than half a century of the institution’s existence.”

The gathering included an official ceremony chaired by Mariatou Koné, the country’s Minister of State for Portfolio and Public Enterprises. During the proceedings, 19 members of LONACI’s leadership were awarded honorary distinctions.

Discussions throughout the event focused on the expansion of online and mobile lottery channels, systems modernisation and the strengthening of payment infrastructure. These themes reflect a wider shift among African state-led lotteries toward digital integration and public–private partnerships. Companies including KGL Group participated in the event, highlighting the growing reliance on private-sector collaboration to scale digital platforms.

The anniversary celebrations are expected to continue with various initiatives scheduled to run until June 2026.
