LONACI Foundation donates computers to police stations
The new technology will enhance police work and support a secure environment conducive to economic activity.
Côte d’Ivoire.- LONACI Foundation has formally presented computer equipment valued at CFA 23.5 million (€35,825) to multiple police stations in the Marcory district. The handover event took place on August 4, 2025, at the foundation’s headquarters in Cocody and was led by Dominique M’Bahia, Director of Social Action, who represented the Executive Director, Ouattara Aboubakary.
Among the benefiting units were the 2nd and 4th police districts of Treichville, the 26th and 29th districts of Marcory, and the Marcory Police District, all of which are in Abidjan South. The districts were equipped with computers and printers to improve their operational and administrative efficiency.
Representing the National Police leadership, Hyacinthe Ouffouet, Chief Commissioner and Head of the Marcory Police District, welcomed the donation, saying it supports ongoing police modernisation reform backed by President Alassane Ouattara. He noted that the new technology would go a long way in enhancing police work and supporting a secure environment conducive to economic activity.
M’Bahia emphasised that the initiative underscores the foundation’s support for efforts that protect people and property. She said: “These donations reflect the desire of Lonaci and its foundation to strengthen the excellent collaboration that already exists with the National Police.”
M’Bahia also commended the security forces and their leadership for their pivotal role in combating illegal gambling and supporting community initiatives. Additionally, she praised the President’s efforts to improve national security, which led to a notable decrease in the security index from 1.39 in 2022 to 1.2 by March 2025.
This latest gesture builds on previous contributions LONACI has made to the force, including a similar equipment donation worth CFA 9.55 million (€14,558) to the 9th and 31st arrondissements of Marcory on April 5, 2023.
Established in March 2019 by the board of LONACI, the foundation aims to foster social welfare across Côte d’Ivoire through targeted initiatives in health, learning and water access to improve living conditions and alleviate poverty among vulnerable populations.
