LONAB tailors lottery prizes to Burkina Faso’s local needs
Five Mam Zaka lottery winners each receive a tonne of cement, highlighting LONAB’s practical approach to lottery rewards and its focus on improving everyday life.
Burkina Faso.- Burkina Faso’s National Lottery (LONAB) is tailoring its prize offering to practical local needs, awarding five Mam Zaka winners a tonne of cement each in its latest promotion.
LONAB handed over the prizes on August 6 at its headquarters in Ouagadougou during a ceremony presided over by Yamba Zida, director of games operations, representing LONAB director general Ibrahim Zarani.
The five winners – Alexandre Ouedraogo, Assane Diallo, Marcel Kinda, Claude Kafando and Eric Kibora – each received one tonne of cement after winning the Mam Zaka game, part of the Minute Plus Raffle, according to a LONAB statement. The choice of cement gives the latest promotion a practical dimension, with the prize able to be put directly towards “construction and family projects”, according to LONAB.
For Ouedraogo, the cement has an immediate purpose. “With this tonne of cement, I intend to give my brother a helping hand, whose construction site has been at a standstill for three months. I reiterate all my gratitude to LONAB for this prize, which brings me immense relief. I invite the population to try their luck and never give up. With LONAB, we are always winners,” said Ouedraogo. Winners highlighted how a non-cash lottery prize can provide an immediate benefit to a winner and their family.
LONAB said: “Through these prizes, LONAB, in accordance with its slogan, ‘Prizes to the winners, benefits to Faso,’ intends to improve the daily lives of Burkina Faso’s population.”
During the ceremony, the Zida congratulated the winners on behalf of the Director General, praising their confidence and boldness. He also invited customers across the country to try their luck, noting that many prizes remain available nationwide.
