LONAB advances growth strategy with 70 new hires in Burkina Faso
State lottery expands its workforce across key business functions as it invests in organisational capacity to support long-term growth and national development.
Burkina Faso.- Burkina Faso’s National Lottery (LONAB) has recruited 70 new employees across key business functions as the state-owned operator continues investing in the skills needed to drive its long-term growth strategy and advance its mission of creating economic and social value for the country.
The latest recruitment reflects LONAB’s continued investment in organisational capacity and follows a series of initiatives this year to expand its retail footprint, create jobs and strengthen its operations.
The recruits, who were officially welcomed during an induction ceremony at LONAB’s headquarters on August 3, will reinforce departments including marketing, information technology, internal audit, sales management, human resources, accounting, legal affairs, and monitoring and evaluation.
Addressing the new recruits, Ibrahim Zarani, director general, said they had been selected through a rigorous recruitment process to equip the organisation with the expertise required to support its long-term development. “Your recruitment is the result of a rigorous process aimed at identifying the most suitable profiles to support LONAB in its mission to create economic and social value for the benefit of Burkina Faso,” Zarani said.

He encouraged the new employees to demonstrate humility, curiosity, commitment and respect for their senior colleagues while carrying out their duties with professionalism, ethics and a commitment to excellence. Zarani also assured them of the management team’s support throughout their careers at LONAB.
Human Resources director Léa Bonkoungou said human capital remains LONAB’s greatest asset, explaining that the induction programme was designed to help new employees better understand the lottery’s mission, values and operations while ensuring a smooth transition into the organisation.
During the ceremony, director of internal audit and inspection Séraphin Kiema presented LONAB’s history, organisational structure, product portfolio and contribution to Burkina Faso’s socio-economic development. He also outlined the organisation’s core values of professionalism, integrity, innovation and responsibility.
The latest recruitment comes as LONAB continues investing in its business. In recent months, the lottery has expanded its PMU’B retail network, reported strong regional sales performances and highlighted the creation of more than 170 direct jobs through its PMU’B initiative, reinforcing its focus on strengthening both its commercial operations and institutional capacity.
