LONAB highlights positive performance momentum ahead of 2026 mid-year review
LONAB is preparing to consolidate its first-half activities and submit the 2026 mid-year results for board approval as it pushes to sustain its performance.
Burkina Faso.- Burkina Faso’s National Lottery (LONAB) is preparing to review its first-half 2026 performance as it seeks to maintain momentum, strengthen its workforce and achieve its full-year objectives.
Director general Ibrahim Zarani highlighted the company’s positive performance momentum during LONAB’s monthly national flag-raising ceremony on August 4, urging employees to maintain their efforts towards achieving the lottery’s objectives by the end of 2026.
Zarani praised staff for their efforts during the previous month and the results recorded by the company. “I am particularly pleased with the good momentum observed in the company’s performance,” he said in a statement, while congratulating the various teams for their contribution.
LONAB’s mid-year performance review, which will consolidate activities carried out during the first half of the financial year. The results will subsequently be submitted to LONAB’s board of directors for approval. Zarani urged employees to maintain the current pace as LONAB works towards its objectives for the remainder of 2026.
The performance drive comes alongside organisational reforms aimed at continuously improving the working environment and strengthening the institution’s performance. Zarani called on employees to embrace the vision behind the changes and contribute to their implementation.
LONAB also highlighted the recent arrival of 70 new recruits, who are expected to strengthen the lottery’s human resources. The recruits were officially welcomed during an induction ceremony at LONAB’s headquarters, with appointments covering key functions including marketing, information technology, internal audit, sales management, human resources, accounting, legal affairs, and monitoring and evaluation.
The monthly flag-raising ceremony was also held at LONAB’s main agencies in Bobo-Dioulasso and Koupéla, where staff participated in the ceremony. The ceremony carried particular symbolic significance, recalling the 4 August 1983 Revolution. Zarani called on employees to draw inspiration from its values while maintaining a strong focus on their responsibilities and the challenges ahead.
He expressed confidence in LONAB’s teams to deliver on the lottery’s 2026 objectives and strengthen its contribution to national development.
