Hollywoodbets delivers food aid to vulnerable Durban families
The initiative is part of Hollywoodbets’ Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, which focuses on supporting various community initiatives.
South Africa.- Hollywoodbets has reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare through a food handover to Siphila Ngomusa, a KwaZulu-Natal community organisation, on December 19, 2025. The initiative is part of Hollywoodbets’ Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, which focuses on supporting various community initiatives, including sports development, education and community welfare projects.
The handover provided food supplies to support children and families facing hardship in Durban. The effort builds on the FinCup, a T20 cricket match between the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Sharks held on August 17 at Kingsmead Stadium. During the event, Siphila Ngomusa received a R10,000 (€519) donation to kick off the support.
The campaign encouraged packing food items, which were stored and are now being distributed to meet people’s needs over the year-end period.
The event involved partners including the Hollywoodbets Sharks rugby team, SA Harvest, and The Pavilion SA Shopping Mall, with the Hollywood Foundation handling the coordination. This initiative aligns with Hollywoodbets’ corporate social investments, with past examples including food parcels for KZN groups facing challenges.
Siphila Ngomusa runs daily programmes such as porridge meals for the homeless, rehabilitation for drug and gambling addicts and aid for people with chronic conditions like HIV/AIDS. The group also addresses gender-based violence and human trafficking, offering counselling and family assistance to vulnerable residents.
Representatives from the partners expressed appreciation for the collaboration. In a statement, Hollywoodbets highlighted its backing for Siphila Ngomusa, saying: “We wish Siphila Ngomusa all the best as they continue their work and thank our partners for their support.”
