Helabet highlights localisation and language strategy as it expands across African betting markets

The sportsbook operator emphasises local languages, regional marketing and mobile optimisation as it grows across the continent.

Tanzania.- Sports betting operator Helabet is highlighting localisation, language accessibility and mobile-first technology as key strategies to build trust with bettors as competition intensifies across Africa’s sportsbook market in 2026. The operator is expanding across several African jurisdictions including Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

According to Helabet, adapting its betting platform to local markets is central to its expansion strategy. The company said it conducts research into local betting habits and market conditions before launching in a new jurisdiction in order to tailor its product offering to regional audiences.

Language accessibility has emerged as a key element of that approach. Helabet’s platform supports multiple languages used across its markets, including English and French, alongside regional languages such as Kiswahili in East Africa and Lingala in the DRC.

“Helabet goes the extra mile by offering its site, app, and customer support in several African languages,” the company said, according to Business Insider Africa.

Regional marketing initiatives have also formed part of the operator’s strategy. The company noted that localisation extends beyond language to include partnerships with local personalities and regional marketing campaigns.

The operator added: “Localisation goes further than language. Operators should collaborate with local stars and influencers to build that much-needed trust.
