Guinea’s National Lottery signals digital push after Dakar seminar participation

LONAGUI outlines innovation and collaboration priorities following continent-wide African lottery sector discussions.

Guinea.- Following its participation in the latest seminar hosted by the Association of Lotteries of Africa (ALA) in Dakar, Guinea’s National Lottery operator (LONAGUI) has highlighted its focus on modernisation.

The event, held from April 21 to 27, brought together lottery stakeholders from across the continent to examine key industry shifts, including digital transformation, product modernisation and evolving customer expectations. While the seminar has now concluded, LONAGUI’s involvement reflects its engagement with these developments within Guinea’s gaming landscape.

According to the operator, its delegation engaged in discussions focused on how African lotteries are responding to sector changes, with particular attention on improving user experience and expanding product offerings.

LONAGUI said: “Through its active presence, LONAGUI confirms its desire to move forward, with method and consistency, towards ever higher standards, while affirming its place among the important players in the gaming ecosystem in Africa.”

The participation also provided an opportunity to benchmark operational approaches against other national operators and identify potential areas for collaboration across jurisdictions.

Africa lottery shift accelerates

The Dakar seminar reflects a broader shift across Africa’s lottery sector towards hybrid retail and digital approaches, alongside evolving operational structures. LONAGUI has separately outlined plans to introduce new games and modernise its product offering in 2026, in line with wider industry developments. Recent activity, including notable payouts and product expansion, points to ongoing efforts to evolve its portfolio and improve the customer experience.

These developments come at a time when lotteries across Africa are increasingly balancing traditional retail models with digital channels, as mobile penetration and online gaming demand continue to rise.

LONAGUI indicated that insights gained during the Dakar sessions will inform its ongoing evolution, as it looks to align with broader continental standards while strengthening its role within the regional gaming ecosystem.

The operator also highlighted the importance of partnerships formed during the seminar, suggesting that cross-border knowledge sharing and institutional cooperation could play a greater role in shaping its next phase of growth.
