Modest bets turn into major wins as LONAGUI showcases the rewards of patience and perseverance.

Guinea.- The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) paid out two major jackpots of GNF533.1m (€48,464) and GNF231.16m (€21,015) in a public award ceremony on December 15. Officials said the wins highlight how “patience pays off” praising the winners’ perseverance and underscoring the high stakes of Guinea’s official lottery.

Elhadj Sidibé, Head of Advertising Promotion at LONAGUI, thanked the winners for their trust and reiterated the company’s commitment to its players. “Today, it is a great honour for us to share these exceptional winnings. It is proof that patience pays off and that LONAGUI is there to fight against poverty,” he said.

LONAGUI referred to the winners by their last names, as their first names were not publicly disclosed. Mr. Diallo, who was ill at the time, wagered GNF20,000 (€1.82) on the Jackpot game and won a large sum of €48,464. He then ensured his ticket was validated and later expressed gratitude to LONAGUI, highlighting the speed and ease of the payout process.

He said: “I advise everyone to play LONAGUI. It’s a game of chance; you never know when luck will strike. My case is a perfect example – I was unwell. Fortunately, I called the manager so she could validate the ticket for me. I am extremely satisfied with LONAGUI because when we came to collect the winnings, we encountered no difficulties.”

The second winner, Mr. Tolno, placed a bet of GNF5,000 (€0.45) on the Quinté, (horse racing bet) and secured the €21,015 win. He described the moment he learned of his win as overwhelming and said the money would bring long-term stability to his family.

He said: “I thank LONAGUI and, above all, God. I encourage all bettors to continue believing in LONAGUI, because it’s a real opportunity. I had no trouble getting my cheque. This money will allow me to prepare for my children’s future and renovate a piece of land I own. It’s a real hope after all these years.”

Winners praised, pay-outs secured

LONAGUI’s Elhadj Sidibé praised the winners and underscored the lottery’s commitment to players and communities during the official jackpot ceremony.

Sidibé said that the story of Mr. Diallo, who travelled despite his illness to place this bet and and secure a massive win, is deeply moving.  He also highlighted the ease of payment for Mr. Tolno.

Sidibé added: “This proves that regardless of age, from 18 years old onwards, when you win with LONAGUI, payment is immediate. There is no delay or postponement of payment to a later date. When you come to our offices with your ticket, we process the payment without delay. Today, our two winners are leaving with their money.”

As 2025 draws to a close, the National Lottery of Guinea reinforces its message to players nationwide: when patience and luck align, winnings are real, substantial and paid in full.
