Guinea’s Lottery goes digital with AI and cybersecurity
LONAGUI modernises operations and strengthens player protection, embracing AI and cybersecurity to set new industry standards.
Guinea.- The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) is ushering in a new era for the country’s lottery operations, modernising processes with AI and cybersecurity to strengthen player protection.
Drawing on insights from a recent African Lotteries Association (ALA) seminar in Côte d’Ivoire, LONAGUI is accelerating its digital transformation, setting new standards for secure, transparent and responsible gaming in Guinea.
The event brought together Africa’s leading lottery operators and technology experts to tackle challenges facing modern gaming, from AI-driven fraud detection to cybersecurity threats, signalling a major step forward for innovation and security in the country’s lottery market.
A delegation led by LONAGUI’s Managing Director, Mohamed Baba Sylla, attended the seminar, supported by key staff from Marketing and IT, underscoring LONAGUI’s commitment to adopting best practices in AI and cybersecurity to ensure reliable operations in an increasingly digital environment.

Sylla said: “At LONAGUI, we are committed to modernising our operations while safeguarding the trust of our players and partners. This seminar was an opportunity to exchange experiences, enrich our strategic thinking and reinforce our commitment to responsible and secure gaming.”
The seminar provided a platform to explore common challenges, including the deployment of AI for fraud detection, risk management and predictive analysis; the critical role of cybersecurity in maintaining player trust; compliance with regulatory and ethical data standards; and continuous staff training to keep pace with evolving technologies. These discussions align directly with LONAGUI’s strategic priorities.
By integrating AI-driven solutions, the company aims to improve internal processes, enhance operational transparency and deliver a smoother, more secure experience for users.
Lottery goes high-tech
Experts at the seminar emphasised that digital transformation is “no longer optional for lotteries” seeking sustainable growth. LONAGUI aims to cement its leadership in Guinea’s lottery sector, showing that innovation and security go hand in hand while investing in technology and expertise to meet today’s digital challenges.
Looking ahead, LONAGUI plans to implement the strategies and insights gained in Abidjan. AI tools, when ethically deployed and closely monitored, promise to optimise user experience, detect irregularities, manage risks and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
With these initiatives, LONAGUI is leading Guinea’s digital lottery transformation, setting new standards in security, transparency and responsible gaming. The recent GNF1.64bn (€140,000) jackpot highlighted the lottery’s transparency and support for national development. Experts emphasise AI’s role in enhancing cybersecurity, fraud detection and data-driven decision-making for sustainable growth.
