The lottery says its financial backing of the third-edition competition is part of a broader effort to support young Guineans and strengthen the country’s football ecosystem.

Guinea.- Guinea’s National Lottery (LONAGUI) has linked its backing of the third edition of the LONAGUI League Cup to a corporate social responsibility strategy focused on youth development and support for football in the country.

The competition brought together 28 football clubs from Guinea’s Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, with teams from the country’s top two divisions competing for the LONAGUI League Cup, according to Guinéenews.

LONAGUI provided financial support for the organisation of the competition. The lottery said its contribution covered logistical aspects as well as promotion and media coverage, describing the backing as part of its broader support for football in Guinea.

LONAGUI said in a statement: “At LONAGUI, our mission goes beyond the sole framework of our gaming products: it is part of a strong social responsibility, focused on the development of Guinean youth and the support of the national sports fabric.”

The tournament ended with FC Séquence de Dixinn, a second-division club, beating top-flight side RCC Kamsar 4-2 at the Stade de l’Amitié in Kamsar to win its first League Cup title. FC Séquence came from 2-0 down to complete the comeback, while the final was also the first in the competition’s history to be staged outside Guinea’s capital, Conakry, according to Guinéenews.

A large crowd gathered for the third edition of the LONAGUI League Cup final as the tournament reached its decisive stage.

LONAGUI’s support extends beyond the latest edition. The lottery says it has a four-year framework agreement with the Guinean Professional Football League (LGFP), aimed at supporting the development of Guinean football and the emergence of young talent. According to LONAGUI.

The partnership has made LONAGUI a major backer of the League Cup, giving the lottery a prominent role in a competition designed to showcase emerging players while strengthening its presence in Guinean football.
