Ghana.- Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA) has approved Nsaa Play Limited’s Chop Money mobile raffle platform, which offers GH¢5 (US$0.43) entries for prize draws featuring smartphones, electronics and shopping vouchers. The platform uses USSD technology and online access, allowing participants to enter without downloading an application, while its regulatory approval was confirmed at its October 29 launch in Accra.
Akua Adu Darko, representing the NLA Caritas Team, confirmed the approval during the platform’s launch at the Accra City Hotel, according to MyJoyOnline.
Adu Darko said: “I want to use this opportunity to encourage Ghanaians to participate fully in this promotional activity because they are duly recognised by NLA. They’ve gone through all the necessary regulatory approvals and so they have our backing to have this promotional activity.”
Participants can access Chop Money by dialling *2727# on any mobile phone, including basic handsets, or visiting chopmoneygh.com. The USSD option does not require an internet connection or application download.
Each ticket costs GH¢5 and provides one entry into the relevant draw. Participants can purchase multiple tickets where permitted under the applicable raffle rules.
Nsaa Play Limited, the Ghanaian gaming company behind Chop Money, is led by general manager Albert Aryee, who said the platform aimed to make participation straightforward while offering prizes relevant to consumers’ everyday needs.
A test raffle held following the launch awarded participants fuel vouchers, shopping vouchers and a mobile phone. The first raffle is scheduled to open in November 2026, with five winners due to be drawn on December 4. Nsaa Play said it intended to introduce further raffles and prizes as it develops the platform.
