Ghana National Lottery Authority launches Customer Service Month to elevate player experience

The initiative aims to enhance lottery operations and ensure a seamless experience for players nationwide.

Ghana.- Ghana’s National Lottery Authority (NLA) has launched its annual Customer Service Month, focusing on initiatives to improve the experience of lottery players across the country. The celebration in October underscores the Authority’s commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

NLA Customer Service Unit’s Philip Cole said, according to a press release: “This year’s theme, ‘Mission Possible’, reflects our commitment to delivering outstanding service and ensuring every customer has a memorable experience with the NLA brand.”

Director-General Mohamed Abdul-Salam actively engaged with staff during the launch of Customer Service Month, delivering a keynote address praising their dedication and contribution to the NLA’s reputation for excellence. He, along with Deputy Director-General Eric Wadie and other executives, connected with staff in a show of unity and appreciation, reinforcing the Authority’s commitment to “leadership, teamwork and service excellence”.

This month’s celebration includes interactive activities, staff recognition and engagement programs, all designed to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for players.

As part of its mandate under the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722), the NLA oversees lottery products including the 5/90 draw and the Noon Rush game.

The NLA’s partnership with KGL Technology Limited has transformed its digital operations, driving major revenue growth. From 2020 to 2024, the NLA’s digital earnings surged from GHS20m (€1.84m) to GHS157m (€14.44m). During that period, the partnership generated about GHS3bn (€276m) in revenue, paid out GHS2bn (€184m) in prizes, and contributed more than GHS87m (€8m) in taxes.

The NLA’s Good Causes Foundation also invests in community projects nationwide, from boreholes and sanitation facilities to supporting youth, education and culturally relevant events, underscoring a mandate beyond lottery sales.
