Ghana Gaming Commission gets risk-management training from IAA
Ghana’s gambling regulator has received two days of training on enterprise risk management as it looks to strengthen its internal oversight.
Ghana.- Ghana’s gambling regulator, the Gaming Commission of Ghana (GCG), has completed a two-day enterprise risk management programme led by the country’s Internal Audit Agency (IAA), as the Commission looks to strengthen how it manages risks across its regulatory work.
The training was held at the Commission’s premises on September 14 and 15, with staff taken through ways of dealing with risks that could affect the regulator’s work. The IAA’s Enterprise Risk Management Directorate delivered the programme.
The IAA said the sessions focused on building the GCG’s ability to spot and deal with risks as part of its day-to-day work.
Dr Cynthia Sallah, the agency’s deputy director-general for Technical and Field Operations, opened the training on behalf of the IAA’s Director-General.
The training comes as the GCG continues to develop its approach to gambling regulation. During its 20th anniversary celebrations in May, the Commission highlighted the use of technology and data in regulation, while investor confidence and responsible gambling were also identified as important issues for the sector.
