Gaming gets a boost as Orange Egypt launches 5G

Egypt’s 5G rollout brings faster internet and new possibilities for gamers, streamers and digital users across the country.

Egypt.- Orange Egypt has unleashed its 5G network, giving gaming and digital life across the country a serious boost. The launch zeroed in on the busiest spots in each region, ready to keep up with the ever-growing appetite for gaming and streaming.

Orange Egypt, one of the country’s top telecom players, teamed up with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to roll out the new service.

Bridging Africa and the Middle East, Egypt is levelling up as a key player in the region’s booming gaming scene. Players here are already spending a solid 11.8 hours a week playing games on mobile, PC and consoles, beating the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) average of 10.8 hours according to a Niko Partners’ 2025 report.

New speeds fuel digital growth

Gamers can expect less delay, better game performance and steadier streaming with the launch of 5G set to push the growth even further.

The new network delivers faster speeds than 4G and supports multiple devices simultaneously without losing signal, improving internet reliability for gaming and helping esports and interactive platforms grow in Egypt.

Dr. Ayman Amiri hails Orange Egypt’s 5G rollout as a game-changer for digital innovation.

Chief Technology and Information Officer at Orange Egypt, Dr. Ayman Amiri, called the rollout a major step in the country’s tech journey.

“The launch of 5G services is a genuine milestone in Egypt’s digital evolution. It highlights our ongoing commitment to providing customers with the fastest and most reliable technologies available,” he said, according to a press release.

He added that the new infrastructure will go far beyond consumer benefits. “This technology will bring meaningful improvements to people’s lives and drive growth across vital sectors that depend on advanced digital infrastructure. Our continued investment in network development underscores our dedication to providing world-class telecom services and positioning Egypt as a leading regional hub for advanced technology.”

While 5G opens doors for fresh digital entertainment, Egypt keeps tight controls on gambling and igaming. Online gambling isn’t allowed for Egyptian citizens, and casinos mostly cater to tourists. But with better networks, legal digital services have room to grow.

As Orange Egypt spreads 5G coverage wider, the country is quickly becoming a hotspot for gaming innovation, digital creativity and tech-driven growth.
