Ethiopia’s Admas Digital Lottery announces prize and ticket price changes

The lottery has increased its top prize to ETB5m and raised the ticket price to ETB20 for its 51st round.

Ethiopia.- Ethiopia’s Admas Digital Lottery is changing its prize structure and ticket price as it enters its 51st round, bringing a new payout structure for players.

The top prize has increased from ETB4m (US$24,520) to ETB5m (US$30,650), while the ticket price has also increased from ETB10 (US$0.06) to ETB20 (US$0.12).

The Ethiopian Lottery Service (ELS) published details of the 51st round on its official Telegram channel on September 3, confirming that the new prize structure and ticket price would take effect for the round.

The 51st round is now on the market, with participation available via SMS or through Telebirr. The ELS runs the digital lottery in partnership with state-owned telecommunications operator Ethio telecom.

The changes come as Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), the Ethiopian government’s strategic investment arm, calls for ELS to strengthen its core lottery business, build digital capabilities and accelerate its transformation.

The lottery’s second prize has also increased, from ETB2m (US$12,260) to ETB2.5m (US$15,330), while the third prize remains at ETB1m (US$6,130).
