Eswatini regulator studies Tanzania’s casino and betting operations

The Eswatini Gaming Control Board visited Le Grand Casino and Gal Sports Betting during a two-day regulatory learning exchange.

Tanzania.- The Eswatini Gaming Control Board visited Le Grand Casino and Gal Sports Betting in Tanzania on the second day of a two-day learning exchange hosted by the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), gaining first-hand insight into licensed gambling operations.

In an update published on October 14, the GBT said the delegation, led by Eswatini Gaming Control Board Chairperson Hon. Mandla Dlamini, began the day with a strategic learning session led by GBT Director James Mbalwe before visiting the two gaming businesses.

Gal Sport Betting is a sports-betting operator offering wagers on sporting events, while Le Grand Casino is a land-based casino providing gaming tables and poker facilities. The two businesses represent different segments of the gambling industry, giving the delegation exposure to both sports betting and casino operations.

The two-day visit provided an opportunity for the Tanzanian and Eswatini regulators to exchange experience and learn from best practices in gaming regulation and oversight. “The visit reflects the value of institutional cooperation and knowledge-sharing in strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing sector oversight, and promoting effective governance of the gaming industry,” the GBT said.
