Cairo casino continues serving players while the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis undergoes upgrades scheduled to run through the end of 2026.
Egypt.- Casino Semiramis, one of Egypt’s established land-based casino venues, is continuing operations during the major refurbishment programme at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis. Located within the hotel, the venue continues to feature among Cairo’s established venues for live poker cash games.
The renovation programme began on January 1, 2026 and is currently scheduled to continue until December 31, 2026, affecting selected guestrooms at the InterContinental Cairo Semiramis, according to Hotels.com.
Casino Semiramis offers table games, electronic gaming machines and poker facilities. The venue is listed by Austria-based casino operator Casinos Austria International as one of its operating properties and primarily caters to international visitors.
While the refurbishment is focused on selected guestroom areas, the hotel has stated that measures are being taken to minimise disruption to guests throughout the renovation period.
The casino also continues to feature within Cairo’s live poker market. Poker industry publication SomuchPoker reported that Casino Semiramis “frequently hosts the city’s most consistent cash game action for tourists” and maintains a dedicated poker area for visiting players in 2026. The report identifies Casino Semiramis among Cairo’s established venues for live poker cash games.
Gaming activities remain available at the property as the refurbishment programme continues, with the accommodation upgrades currently scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
