Burkina Faso National Lottery kicks off 2026 with flag-raising and strong commitment to gambling excellence

Burkina Faso.- The Burkina Faso National Lottery (LONAB) started the new year with its first monthly flag-raising ceremony of 2026, a patriotic event that brought staff together to raise the country’s national flag and sing the national anthem.
The ceremony, led by LONAB Director-General Ibrahim Ben Zarani, set the tone for a year emphasising commitment, unity and excellence in lottery operations. Zarani extended New Year’s greetings to all staff, wishing them a year of health, peace and prosperity, marked by “self-improvement and shared success.”
Looking back at 2025, he praised the organisation’s “very satisfactory results”, commending staff for their professionalism, resilience and dedication that enabled LONAB to honour its commitments. Zarani said: “These results obtained are a call for strengthened mobilisation to consolidate the position of LONAB and increase its contribution to socio-economic development, particularly by supporting the national effort and the fighting forces.”

The flag-raising ceremony was also observed in LONAB’s regional offices, sending a unified message of commitment, efficiency and service to the nation.
The event further highlighted LONAB’s broader mandate within Burkina Faso’s gaming sector. As the country’s official lottery operator, the organisation is responsible for managing regulated lottery and gaming activities, providing millions of people in Burkina Faso with structured and responsible opportunities to participate.
Beyond its core operations, LONAB generates revenue that supports social programs, public initiatives and national projects, reinforcing its contribution to the country’s development and the well-being of its citizens.
