Botswana Gambling Authority shows strong presence at Consumer Fair 2025
New licensing opportunities and responsible gambling highlighted at Botswana’s biggest Trade Fair.
Botswana.- The Botswana Gambling Authority (GA) is making a prominent appearance at the Consumer Fair, seizing the spotlight to highlight new licensing opportunities while advancing its responsible gambling agenda.
The Botswana Consumer Fair 2025, which has grown into the largest trade and innovation showcase, kicked off on August 25 at the Gaborone Fairgrounds and runs until August 31.
This year’s edition brings together more than 500 exhibitors across 28 sectors, with an expected 36,000 visitors attending under the theme “Embracing Technology and Innovation for Economic Transition”.
The GA has set up an information stall to engage directly with the public and industry stakeholders. “Visitors at the Botswana Consumer Fair 2025 are encouraged to visit the Gambling Authority’s stall to learn more about upcoming licences and responsible gambling,” the Authority said in a statement.

Public education on gambling practices will also play a role at the fair. The GA added: “The Gambling Authority is committed to empowering the public with vital information about responsible gambling. Central to this mission is the need to ensure a safe and enjoyable gambling environment for everyone.”
The event, organised by Fairground Holdings, is driving growth and innovation across Botswana, according to CEO Gorata Gabaraane.
“For nearly four decades, Fairground Holdings has been at the heart of Botswana’s economic and social fabric in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector. We continue to build platforms that drive economic growth, foster innovation and connect communities to opportunity,” said Gabaraane.
In addition to the Gambling Authority’s showcase, visitors can explore the Traders Hub with more than 50 youth enterprises and start-ups, a Tourism Pavilion promoting Botswana’s hospitality sector, and a Technology and Innovation Zone featuring emerging solutions.
