At its stall, the BGA highlighted its mandate, outlined the forthcoming licences, and promoted the Responsible Gambling Self-help Portal, accessible online and via USSD code *228#. The BGA said: “The Botswana gambling industry is committed to being diversified, compliant and safe for all players and operators.”

Both events promote healthy lifestyles while educating the public on safe gambling, with the UB Marathon also serving as a fundraising platform for initiatives like the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership.

By combining public outreach with licensing announcements, the BGA reinforced its commitment to a regulated and thriving gambling sector. Its “Motshameko O Phepa” (“Clean Game”) campaign continues to promote responsible play while highlighting the business potential of Botswana’s upcoming licences.
